City Council Decision
City Council on May 10, 11 and 12, 2023, adopted the following:
1. City Council appoint the following candidate to the Toronto Global Board, at pleasure of Council, for a term of office ending on March 15, 2025, and until a successor is appointed:
Satish Kanwar
2. City Council direct that the balance of Confidential Attachment 1 and Confidential Attachments 2 and 3 to the report (April 5, 2023) from the City Clerk remain confidential as they relate to personal matters about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Toronto Global Board.
The balance of Confidential Attachment 1 and Confidential Attachments 2 to 3 to the report (April 5, 2023) from the City Clerk remain confidential in their entirety in accordance with the provisions of the City of Toronto Act, 2006, as they relate to personal matters about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Toronto Global Board.

Satish Kanwar
Satish Kanwar is the Vice President of Corporate Development at Shopify, where he heads strategic acquisitions, investments, and alliances with mission-aligned companies. Satish has been a key part of Shopify's growth over the last 10 years, including leading its rapid expansion in Toronto. He is an active angel investor and advisor in the technology ecosystem. He previously co-founded award-winning design studio Jet Cooper and graduated with a Bachelor's in Business Administration from the University of Toronto, Scarborough.
