Motions

Motion to Receive Item moved by Councillor Alejandra Bravo (Carried)

That the Budget Subcommittee receive the public presentations on the 2023 Capital and Operating Budgets for information.

Point of Order by Councillor Alejandra Bravo

Councillor Bravo, on a Point of Order, stated that she had heard from constituents that they have emailed the Budget Committee inbox to speak at the January 17 and 18 Budget consultation meetings, but have not yet heard back on whether they are registered, and Councillor Bravo asked if there was an update on speaker registrations.

Ruling by Councillor Gary Crawford
Chair Crawford accepted the Point of Order and asked the Committee Clerk to respond. The Committee Clerk stated that their office is working through a high volume of emails received over a few days, which are a mix of communications on the budget and requests to speak, and that staff are working as quickly as possible to register speakers for their preferred session on January 17 or helping them find an alternate session on January 18.
