Community Council Decision
The Toronto and East York Community Council:
1. Amended the existing stopping prohibition in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, on the west side of Poplar Plains Road between Macpherson Avenue and a point 43 metres south of Russell Hill Road, to be in effect between Macpherson Avenue and Cottingham Street.
2. Prohibited stopping from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, on the west side of Poplar Plains Road between a point 20.2 metres north of Cottingham Street and a point 43 metres south of Russell Hill Road.
3. Amended the existing parking prohibition in effect at all times, on the west side of Poplar Plains Road between Macpherson Avenue and a point 43 metres south of Russell Hill Road, to be in effect between Macpherson Avenue and Cottingham Street.
4. Prohibited parking at all times, on the west side of Poplar Plains Road between a point 20.2 metres north of Cottingham Street and a point 43 metres south of Russell Hill Road.
5. Prohibited parking from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, on the west side of Poplar Plains Road, between Cottingham Street and a point 20.2 metres north.
6. Authorized parking for a maximum period of one hour from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
to 7:30 a.m. of the next following day, Monday to Friday, on the west side of Poplar Plains Road,
between Cottingham Street and a point 20.2 metres north.

Summary
I am writing to respectfully request a number of parking amendments on Poplar Plains Road to facilitate the establishment of a lay-by as part of The Mabin School Reconstruction project. The lay-by, which widens the existing road structure, would go a long way to improve traffic flow and improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists. My office set up a Construction Liaison Committee that provides a platform for residents to work together with my office, City staff, the School, and the project manager to address traffic and parking concerns related to the reconstruction project.
