2. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter sections of the roadway on Summerhill Avenue, between Yonge Street and Summerhill Gardens, to install five speed humps, generally as shown on the copy of 'Drawing No. 421G-4020' dated May 2022 from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services, attached to the letter (May 26, 2022) from Councillor Mike Layton, Ward 11, University-Rosedale.

Summary

Residents on Summerhill Ave in my ward have brought forward concerns regarding the speed at which cars travel on Summerhill Ave by way of a significant petition in August 2020.

The request to install speed humps will slow down drivers ensuring a safer environment for children who live and go to school in the area, pedestrians and cyclists alike as well as mitigate vehicular entry into the area by drivers who are not aware that Summerhill Ave dead ends and is not a cut-through street.
