Community Council Decision
The Toronto and East York Community Council:
1. Designated an on-street accessible parking space on the west side of Earlscourt Avenue, between a point 73.4 metres south of Hope Street and a point 5.5 metres further south inclusive, from the 16th day to the last day of each month, Apr. 1st to Nov. 30th, inclusive.
2. Designated an on-street accessible parking space on the east side of Earlscourt Avenue, between a point 76 metres south of Hope Street and a point 5.5 metres further south inclusive, from the 1st day of Dec. to the 31st day of Mar. of the next following year, inclusive and from the 1st day to the 15th day of each month Apr. 1st to Nov. 30th, inclusive.

Recently, I have heard from the homeowner of 127 Earlscourt Avenue requesting the installation of an accessible parking space (APS).
In the reported case, both residents are seniors with severe mobility and health issues. For these reasons they have applied and qualified for an accessible parking permit.
Traffic Operations staff conducted an investigation of the property and noted that an on-street accessible space would not be supported under their guidelines.
However, by way of Toronto East York Community Council I am making an amendment to facilitate the installation of an accessible parking space in order to provide the residents with convenience and an improved quality of life.
