Origin
Summary
I am writing to request your support in installing stop controls at two "Y-like" intersections at Old Forest Hill Road and Russell Hill Road to enhance traffic safety. The first, at the north intersection of Old Forest Hill Road and Russell Hill Road, is a short road along Old Forest Hill Road that runs east/west and links Old Forest Hill Road and Russell Hill Road. This is controlled by all-way stops. However, the eastbound has a stop sign, but the westbound is uncontrolled. This situation gives right of way to both traffic travelling north on Old Forest Hill Road, and those seeking to join Forest Hill Road from Russell Hill Road in the westbound direction, which can result in collisions. A similar situation exists just south of the intersection (controlled by all-way stops), except this stretch (Russell Hill Road) is much shorter and is uncontrolled in both directions. Traffic Operations staff identified these unsafe intersections and brought to the attention of my office for the necessary safety measures to be implemented.
