Origin
Summary
In an effort to achieve the City of Toronto’s Vision Zero initiatives , my office has engaged in consultation with residents and City staff in response to concerns with the level and speed of traffic moving through Dermott Place between Carlton Street and Spruce Street. There are currently 14 units surrounding the lane, many of which have young children who play outside and vehicles are often seen speeding through the narrow entrance to the laneway. As a result, I am recommending the installation and bylaw changes to allow for a 30km/h bylaw and signage to reduce traffic speeds and increase community safety.
