Summary

Recently, my office has received feedback from parents and administrators at Stella Maris

Catholic School regarding ongoing concerns about parking at the school, specifically during

pick-up and drop-off times.

Stella Maris is located on Ascot Avenue, which turns into a one-way operation eastbound starting at St. Clair Gardens. The current parking regulation designates a maximum of 10 minutes to allow parents to park on the south side of Ascot Avenue in front of the school. However, the signed regulations fronting Stella Maris do not reflect the updated school hours, which has caused unsafe pick-up/drop-off conditions.

As a result, I am requesting approval to amend the 10 minute parking regulation on the south side of Ascot Avenue to bring about greater flexibility, improved safety, and on-street parking availability as recommended below.
