The Toronto and East York Community Council: 

1. Rescinded the existing parking machine regulation on the south side of Elm Street, between a point 49.5 metres east of Bay Street and a point 45 metres west of Yonge Street, in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, for a maximum period of three hours and at a rate of $5.00 per hour.

2. Authorized the installation of parking machines on the south side of Elm Street, between a point 49.5 metres east of Bay Street and a point 48.5 further east, to be in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, for a maximum period of three hours and at a rate of $5.00 per hour.

3. Prohibited stopping at all times on the south side of Elm Street, between a point 98 metres east of Bay Street and a point 15 metres further east.

4. Authorized the installation of parking machines on the south side of Elm Street, between a point 113 metres east of Bay Street and a point 45 metres west of Yonge Street, to be in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, for a maximum period of three hours and at a rate of $5.00 per hour.

Residents on Elm Street have been sharing concerns about safety along Elm St, particularly around the driveway area for 25 Elm St.

Delivery vehicles are often stopped in the "No Parking" area to load and unload and motorists report difficulty seeing oncoming traffic as these stopped vehicles prevent a clear view.

This is a safety concern for safe entry and exit to and from this driveway. The proposal below looks to provide more space for drivers to safely enter and exit the area while providing greater space to manoeuver.

The building management at 25 Elm St supports these recommendations.
