Panel Decision
The Property Standards Committee, Scarborough Panel:
1. Confirmed the Order to Comply (February 4, 2022) for 1520-1548 Warden Avenue, Folder No. 22 111165 PRS 00 IV, and, in doing so, granted an extension of time to July 29, 2022, and further directed that the Municipal Standards Officer, the appellant and the tenant meet to discuss the resolution of the Order to Comply (February 4, 2022) prior to that date.
Decision Advice and Other Information
The Property Standards Committee, Scarborough Panel gave the following reasons for its decision:
While there was some dispute between the Appellant Property Owner and the Property Standards Officer as to the extent of the leak as well as the size / quantity of the deterioration in the ceiling, the Appellant Property Owner agreed that necessary corrections would be made or had already been made, for example, drop ceiling tiles had been replaced.
The Appellant Property Owner and a Property Standards Officer will meet, together with the tenant at the end of July 2022 to review the work to date and determine whether any further work needs to be completed.
