installation of traffic calming (speed humps) on Exford Drive, between Birchmount Road and Ellendale Drive.
2. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter sections of the roadway on Exford Drive, between Birchmount Road and Ellendale Drive to install six speed humps, generally as shown on the copy of 'Drawings 421G-4043, and 421G-4044' dated June 2022 from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services, found in Attachments 1 and 2 to the letter (June 14, 2022) from Councillor Michael Thompson, Ward 21, Scarborough Centre.
Origin
Summary
Speeding and not stopping at the Stop sign has created a dangerous situation on Exford Drive. Toronto Police have regularly enforced both offences. Numerous tickets have been issued but speeding and not stopping at the stop sign continue.
I am very concerned for the safety of residents specifically children and seniors.
I hosted a community consultation meeting, TPS reported that numerous tickets were issued, and residents expressed their concerns relating to community safety. The installation of speed humps is one of the tools to assist with discouraging speeding.
Based on the numerous tickets issued and community safety concerns, I am requesting an expedited installation of speed humps on Exford Drive.
