Scarborough Community Council:

1. Waived the polling requirement under the City's Traffic Calming Policy and authorized the installation of traffic calming (speed humps) on Pegasus Trail, between Dormington Drive (north intersection) and Dormington Drive (south intersection).

2. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter sections of the roadway to install eight speed humps on Pegasus Trail, between Dormington Drive (north intersection) and Dormington Drive (south intersection), for traffic calming purposes, generally as shown on Attachment 2, Attachment 3, and Attachment 4, dated June 2022, attached to the report (June 14, 2022) entitled "Traffic Calming - Pegasus Trail" from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services.

Summary

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision.

Transportation Services has reviewed the need for traffic calming (speed humps) on Pegasus Trail, between Dormington Drive (north intersection) and Dormington Drive (south intersection). The assessment indicates the warrant criteria as set out in the City of Toronto's Traffic Calming Policy has not been satisfied. Therefore, staff do not recommend the installation of speed humps on Pegasus Trail.

That Scarborough Community Council delete Recommendation 1 and replace with the following:

"1. Scarborough Community Council waive the polling requirement under the City's Traffic Calming Policy and authorize the installation of traffic calming (speed humps) on Pegasus Trail, between Dormington Drive (north intersection) and Dormington Drive (south intersection).

2. Scarborough Community Council direct the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter sections of the roadway to install eight speed humps on Pegasus Trail, between Dormington Drive (north intersection) and Dormington Drive (south intersection), for traffic calming purposes, generally as shown on Attachment 2, Attachment 3, and Attachment 4, dated June 2022, attached to the report entitled "Traffic Calming - Pegasus Trail" from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services."
