Scarborough Community Council:

 

1. Requested staff to schedule a community consultation meeting for the application located at 875 Morningside Avenue together with the Ward Councillor.

 

2. Requested staff to provide notice for the community consultation to landowners and residents within 120 metres of the application site, and to additional residents, institutions and owners to be determined in consultation with the Ward Councillor, with any additional mailing costs to be borne by the applicant.

Summary

This report provides information and identifies a preliminary set of issues regarding the application to amend the Official Plan and Zoning By-law to permit the construction of a 6 storey (35 metres) institutional building located on the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus (UTSC) at 875 Morningside Avenue. The proposed building is known as the Scarborough Academy of Medicine and Integrated Health (SAMIH) and is intended to be a medical academy containing a total gross floor area of 15,177 square metres.

 

The application has been circulated to all appropriate City divisions and public agencies for comment. City Planning staff will proceed to schedule a Community Consultation Meeting for the application, in consultation with the Ward Councillor.
