Scarborough Community Council:

1. Prohibited stopping from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, on the west side of Cathedral Bluffs Drive, between a point 38 metres south of Earl Road and a point 63 metres further south.
 

2. Amended the existing stopping prohibition in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, on the east side of Cathedral Bluffs, between a point 120 metres south of Kingston Road and a point 70.2 metres further south, to be in effect on the east side of Cathedral Bluffs Drive, between a point 247 metres south of Kingston Road and a point 43 metres further south.

St Agatha Catholic School is located on Cathedral Bluffs Drive, which is a collector road running between Sloley Road and Kingston Road. In order to ensure the safety of the students entering and exiting the school at peak hours, I along with the local community, Parent Council and school administration, am seeking measures to reduce traffic congestion in front of the school during peak hours. A stopping prohibition on the west side of the street opposite the school will help to achieve this objective.

During the course of the investigation, Transportation Services staff noted a discrepancy between posted signs and the existing parking regulations. Recommendation 2 will correct this inconsistency.
