Summary

Bike Share Toronto is a sustainable, healthy, and low-cost program that has become an integral component of Toronto’s transportation network. Designed to improve mobility options for Torontonians, the program saw numerous successes in 2021, including record ridership, growth in annual memberships, new and popular pilot programs, and increased demand for new stations and bicycle availability.

Toronto Parking Authority aspires to make Bike Share Toronto the best bike sharing system in the world. As outlined in Toronto Parking Authority's 2022 Operating Plan, accelerating bike share's growth is a key corporate priority.

This report provides an update to Toronto Parking Authority’s Board of Directors on the Bike Share program’s 2021 accomplishments and recent activities, and an outline of Bike Share Toronto’s new four-year growth plan.
