Community Council Decision
North York Community Council:
1. Directed the Director of Traffic Management, Transportation Services, to request the City Clerk to poll eligible householders on Ranee Avenue, between Rajah Street and Bathurst Street, to determine whether residents support the installation of traffic calming, in accordance with the City of Toronto Traffic Calming Policy.
2. Subject to favourable results of the poll, directed staff to report to the North York Community Council on the results and placement of the speed humps.

Transportation Services has reviewed the need for traffic calming (speed humps) on Ranee Avenue, between Rajah Street and Bathurst Street. The assessment indicates the warrant criteria as set out in the City of Toronto's Traffic Calming Policy has not been satisfied. Therefore, staff do not recommend the installation of speed humps on Ranee Avenue, between Rajah Street and Bathurst Street.

Motions
That the North York Community Council delete Recommendation 1 and replace with the following:
1. Direct the Director of Traffic Management, Transportation Services, to request the City Clerk to poll eligible householders on Ranee Avenue, between Rajah Street and Bathurst Street, to determine whether residents support the installation of traffic calming, in accordance with the City of Toronto Traffic Calming Policy.
2. Subject to favourable results of the poll:
a. authorize the installation of traffic calming (speed humps) on Ranee Avenue, between Rajah Street and Bathurst Street.
b. direct the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter sections of the roadway to install four speed humps on Ranee Avenue, between Rajah Street and Bathurst Street, for traffic calming purposes, generally as shown on Attachment 2, dated June 2022, attached to the report entitled "Traffic Calming - Ranee Avenue" from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services."
c. reduce the speed limit from 40 km/h to 30 km/h on Ranee Avenue, between Rajah Street and Bathurst Street, in conjunction with the installation of speed humps.
Replaced by Motion 3 by Councillor Mike Colle.
That in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 27, Council Procedures, North York Community Council reconsider Item NY33.36 to replace Motion 1 by Councillor Mike Colle with a new Motion.
That the North York Community Council delete Recommendation 1 and replace with the following:
1. Direct the Director of Traffic Management, Transportation Services, to request the City Clerk to poll eligible householders on Ranee Avenue, between Rajah Street and Bathurst Street, to determine whether residents support the installation of traffic calming, in accordance with the City of Toronto Traffic Calming Policy.
2. Subject to favourable results of the poll, staff report to the North York Community Council on the results and placement of the speed humps.
