Summary

This report requests that City Council deny the request for a permit to remove one privately owned tree located at 37 Bentworth Avenue. The application indicates the reason for removal is due to concerns that the tree is causing damage to a concrete pad, pathways and foundation, and that the tree's needles and cones are dropping onto the roof of the neighbouring property, requiring the owners to remove the debris on a regular basis.

The subject tree is a Colorado blue spruce tree (Picea pungens), measuring 53 cm in diameter. The Tree By-laws do not support the removal of this tree as it is healthy and maintainable.
