Community Council Decision

North York Community Council:

 

1. Requested the General Manager, Transportation Services to develop a plan to close the cul-de-sac to vehicular traffic, in consultation with operating divisions.

 

2. Requested the Chief Engineer and Executive Director, Engineering and Construction Services, Land and Property Surveys, to prepare in consultation with the General Manager, Transportation Services a Reference Plan of Survey to identify the sections of cul-de-sac being closed to vehicular traffic.

 

3. Upon registration of the Plan of Survey, requested that the General Manager, Transportation Services report back to North York Community Council on the closure to vehicular traffic of the Blue Ridge Road cul-de-sac and append to that report a draft bylaw, accordingly; and authorize the General Manager, Transportation Services, to give notice to the public of a proposed by-law to close the cul-de-sac to vehicular traffic in accordance with the requirements of City of Toronto Municipal Code, Chapter 162 and the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for Schedule "A+" activities, with North York Community Council to hear any member of the public who wishes to speak to the matter during consideration of the proposed by-law.

Summary

At its meeting of November 4, 2020, North York Community Council directed the General Manager, Transportation Services to investigate the permanent stop-up and closure to vehicular traffic of the cul-de-sac at the northerly terminus of Blue Ridge Road. 

 

Further to our review, Transportation Services does not recommend closing the cul-de-sac to vehicular traffic, and recommends that this report be received for information.
