City Council Decision
City Council on May 11 and 12, 2022, adopted the following:
1. City Council endorse an extension of the existing District of Jaffna-City of Toronto Memorandum of Understanding for a two year term.
2. City Council reiterate its commitment to the collaborative advancement of the four main pillars of Good Governance, Education, Library Systems and Economic Development, as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding.
3. City Council direct the City Manager to work with the appropriate divisions and agencies and the District of Jaffna to action the initiatives outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding.

Speaker Nunziata advised Council that the provisions of Chapter 27, Council Procedures, need to be waived to permit introduction of Motion MM43.30. A two-thirds vote of Council Members present is required to waive notice.
