Origin
Summary
There are a series of properties along Bloor which have been brought to my attention as they are in need of review as shared by the Annex Residents' Association Heritage Committee Chair.
These properties are located in the heart of the Annex neighbourhood, adjacent to the East Annex Heritage Conservation District, the Madison Avenue Heritage Conservation District and the forthcoming West Annex Heritage Conservation District.
These properties comprise a portion of a submission for a Zoning By-Law Amendment Application that was submitted to the City Planning Division for the north-east corner of Spadina and Bloor, spanning the properties of 320-332 Bloor St W.
The Annex is an area with distinct heritage considerations and districts and a rich architectural history. As a part of its history, the Annex has been at the forefront of balancing downtown intensification and the protection of historical neighbourhoods.
Its unique location has created a mixture of commercial and residential styles, including low-rise mixed use buildings, such as these, fronting on Bloor Street West.
