Community Council Decision

The Toronto and East York Community Council:

Origin

Summary

Residents in Moore Park have been contacting my office with respect to the dangerous road conditions in the neighbourhood due to the number of vehicles travelling at high speeds nearby a children's playground at Moorevale Park.

Transportation Services agrees that lowering the speed limit on Welland between Moore Avenue and St Clair Avenue East will not only make the speed limit consistent with the rest of Welland which is 30, but the reduction will also make the situation safer for all road users, particularly the most vulnerable including children and cyclists (as the City has a sharrowed bike route along Welland).
