Cheryl Blackman, Acting General Manager, Economic Development and Culture, gave an oral presentation to the Scarborough Community Council on Engaging Scarborough Councillors and Businesses in Economic Development Initiatives.

Summary

As requested by SC23.32 staff from Economic Development and Culture will give a presentation on the following:

  • How Economic Development staff are engaging Scarborough Community Councillors and businesses in economic development initiatives.
  • How 2020 Economic Development programs were implemented in Scarborough and how successful they were relative to other areas of the City, including, but not limited to: CafeTO, CurbTO, DriveInTO, ShowLoveTO, StrollTO, BigArtTO, MakeArtTO, City Hall Spotlight.
  • How the lessons learned from 2020 have been incorporated into 2021 plans, and what the 2021 plans are to support Scarborough businesses.
  • How more Business Improvement Areas in Scarborough can be created and what resources can be provided to them.

  • Cheryl Blackman, Acting General Manager, Economic Development and Culture; and
  • Tobias Novogrodsky, Director, Business Growth Services, Economic Development and Culture.
