Item - 2021.QS4.3

The Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Advisory Committee:

1. Requested the Director, Community Resource Section and the Manager, Youth Development, Social Development, Finance and Administration, to incorporate the Committee's feedback into the development of a Preliminary Service Plan for Transgender and Non-binary Youth.

2. Recommended that the Director, Community Resource Section and the Manager, Youth Development, Social Development, Finance and Administration convene a table of Transgender, Two-Spirit, and Non-Binary individuals with lived experience to provide advice on what meaningful community engagement looks like to inform staff's work in developing a service plan for youth who identify as Non-binary, Trans and Two-Spirit as part of the Toronto Youth Equity Strategy. 

Aina-Nia Ayo'dele Grant, Director, Community Resource Section and Stefany Hanson, Manager, Youth Development, Social Development, Finance and Administration gave a presentation to the Committee.

The Director, Community Resource Section and the Manager, Youth Development, Social Development, Finance and Administration, will give a presentation to the Committee. The presentation will discuss efforts to develop a preliminary service plan for youth who identify as Non-binary, Trans and Two-Spirit. A Preliminary Service Plan for Transgender and Non-binary Youth is the result of Council direction for a second Toronto Youth Equity Strategy in the form of a gender-based violence action plan targeted to youth who are most vulnerable to facing gender-based violence in Toronto.
