The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Two-Spirit Advisory Committee recommends that:

 

1.  City Council oppose the excessive armed police presence in the clearing of encampments in the context of the City's homelessness and Housing First solutions.

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Two-Spirit Advisory Committee:

 

1. Advised City Council that the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Two-Spirit Advisory Committee opposes the excessive armed police presence in the clearing of encampments in the context of the City's homelessness and Housing First solutions, and supports a strategy of de-escalation and access to social determinants of health. 

 

Gordon Tanner, Director, Homelessness Initiatives and Prevention Services, Shelter, Support and Housing Administration gave a presentation to the Committee.

That the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Two-Spirit Advisory Committee:

 

1. Advise City Council that the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Two-Spirit Advisory Committee opposes the excessive armed police presence in the clearing of encampments in the context of the City's homelessness and Housing First solutions, and supports a strategy of de-escalation and access to social determinants of health.

 

2. Request City Council to oppose the excessive armed police presence in the clearing of encampments in the context of the City's homelessness and Housing First solutions.
