North York Community Council:

1. Rescinded the parking prohibition in effect at all times on the east side of Flint Road, between the south end of Flint Road and a point 238 metres south of Martin Ross Avenue.

2. Prohibited stopping at all times on the east side of Flint Road, between the south end of Flint Road and Martin Ross Avenue.

Companies operating along the west side of Flint Rd., south of Martin Ross Ave., have experienced problematic parking behaviour along Flint Rd. The lack of proper signage and regulations previously allowed drivers to park, and on instances, abandon commercial vehicles along the east side of Flint Rd. blocking access in and out of the multiple driveways servicing the addresses of 350 and 400 Flint Rd. These parked vehicles also constantly block the bike sharrows along the street. It is because of the previously highlighted reasons that a change to on-street parking regulations, along the east side of Flint Rd., was adopted by North York Community Council on September 16h, 2019 (NY8.43).

The adopted on-street parking regulation gave Parking Enforcement the authority to ticket and discourage commercial vehicles from parking and abandoning commercial trailers on the road. Unfortunately, the selfish parking behaviour has continued to take place even when the vehicle owners are ticketed every month. It is because of the previously highlighted reasons that a change to on-street parking regulations, along the east side of Flint Rd., south of Martin Ross Ave., has been requested by the affected businesses and Toronto Parking Enforcement. My office is then requesting turning the No-Parking At All Times regulation into a No-Stopping At All Times prohibition. The new No-Stopping regulation will give Parking Enforcement the ability to easily tow vehicles away from the area.
