The Corporations Nominating Panel recommends that:  

1. City Council appoint Butterfly Sabrina GoPaul as a public member, tenant representative on the Toronto Community Housing Corporation Board of Directors, at pleasure of Council, for a term of office ending March 10, 2023, continuing to serve until a successor is appointed.

2. City Council direct that Confidential Attachment 1 to the report (October 15, 2021) from the City Clerk remain confidential in its entirety as it relates to personal matters about an identifiable individual being considered for appointment to the Toronto Community Housing Corporation Board of Directors.

Candidate's biography:

Butterfly Sabrina GoPaul

Butterfly Sabrina GoPaul is a resident of Jane-Finch, mother of two sons, and a grandmother. She's a member of Jane-Finch Action Against Poverty and Co-Chair of Black Creek Community Farm Steering Committee. A Humber Grad in Journalism Print and Broadcast with honours, she was the first Brown woman and single mother who earned the Board of Governors Achievement Award. She's a Community Health Worker with over 20 years of experience on the frontline focusing on community development and the social determinant of health. She's active with a number of grassroots movements, community based artists', her union and is committed to the fight for socio-economic racial justice.

The Corporations Nominating Panel will recommend a public member, tenant representative to City Council for appointment to the Toronto Community Housing Corporation Board of Directors.
