City Council Decision

City Council on February 2, 3 and 5, 2021, adopted the following:

 

1.  City Council request the Federal Government to deploy the Canadian Armed Forces and the Royal Canadian Medical Service for immediate assistance in long-term care homes, including the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine, medical equipment, supplies and Personal Protective Equipment and, care for the residents.

 

2.  City Council request the Federal and Provincial Governments to provide an additional enhanced funding increase to support long-term care homes during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaker Nunziata advised Council that the provisions of Chapter 27, Council Procedures, require that Motion MM28.15 be referred to the Executive Committee. A two-thirds vote of the Council Members present is required to waive referral.
