Summary

The subdivision at 19 Glen Agar Drive was approved by City Council on March 9, 2017 through item 2017.EY20.5, and it has been nearly completed. The draft plan of subdivision included the creation of a public park, Chimney Swift Park. Parks, Forestry and Recreation worked closely with the local residents, the builder, and the builder’s consultant to develop a concept plan for Chimney Swift Park, and construction was planned to start in 2020/2021. In 2020 it was brought to my attention by the City’s Project Coordinator that there was a monetary gap of approximately $240,000 between the cost to construct the park with the amenities that were promised to the community and the funds committed by the builder. I requested Parks staff to work with the builder to close this gap.

I am writing to request a status update from Parks, Forestry and Recreation on their discussions with the builder.
