Appointees' biographies:

Nick Eaves, as the tenant representative

As Chief Venues and Operations Officer at MLSE I oversee operations, capital projects, food and beverage and our Live events business. I spent 21 years at Woodbine, including 5 as CEO. I am an active community volunteer with such organizations as Out of the Cold, United Way, Destination Toronto and Big Brothers Big Sisters, where I also serve on their Boards of Directors. MLSEA’s Toronto Maple Leafs are a tenant at Lakeshore and, as such, I have extensive knowledge of the facility and its operations.

Andrew Kidd

Andrew is a lawyer and executive with major Canadian real estate companies for 30 years experienced in infrastructure development and public private partnerships in healthcare, sports complexes, transportation and education. He has raised his family in North Toronto and contributed as a GTHL Board Member, Board Chair of North Toronto Soccer Club, the GTHL Special Committee addressing Diversity and Inclusion in Youth Hockey and past co-chair of St Mikes School new arena committee.

Andrew Teichmann

Experienced executive with 30+ years of project management, business development, strategic planning and investment management experience in the electrical utility sector. Experienced in directing strategic planning and business development initiatives, including asset divestitures and acquisitions. Corporate governance experience includes serving on several venture capital-backed energy technology companies. Interests include strategic planning, advanced technology and urban development.

The Civic Appointments Committee recommends that:  

1. City Council appoint the following candidates to the Lakeshore Arena Corporation Board, at pleasure of Council, for a term office ending July 14, 2023, and until successors are appointed:

2. City Council direct that the balance of  Confidential Attachment 1 to the report (June 4, 2021) from the City Clerk remain confidential as it relates to personal information about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Lakeshore Arena Corporation Board.

This report recommends the appointment of two public members and one tenant representative to the Lakeshore Arena Corporation Board for a two-year term of office.
