City Council Decision

City Council on June 8 and 9, 2021, adopted the following:

 

1. City Council appoint Tamara Balan to the Toronto Public Library Board, at pleasure of Council, for a term of office ending on November 14, 2022, and until a successor is appointed.

 

2. City Council direct that Confidential Attachments 1, 2, 3 and 4  to the report (April 28, 2021) from the City Clerk remain confidential in their entirety as they relate to personal matters about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Toronto Public Library Board.

 

Confidential Attachments 1, 2, 3 and 4  to the report (April 28, 2021) from the City Clerk remain confidential in their entirety in accordance with the provisions of the City of Toronto Act, 2006, as they relate to personal matters about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Toronto Public Library Board.

Tamara Balan

 

Tamara is the Director of Operations at the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation. A seasoned civic leader and entrepreneur she has harnessed the collective energy of leaders across sectors to address tough urban challenges. Before joining the St. Joe’s Foundation, Tamara was COO of CivicAction and supported the incubation of many city building initiatives. She holds a Bachelors degree in Urban Studies and Political Science from the University of Toronto. In 2012, Tamara was named a Vital Person by the Toronto Community Foundation.
