Committee Decision

The Budget Committee: 

 

1. Requested the General Manager, Solid Waste Management Services to provide a briefing note to the November 19 2021 Budget Committee meeting on:

 

a. the Solid Waste Management Services 2022 work-plan for education, how service levels for enforcement are distributed across the districts and whether or not these levels are meeting requests for enforcement; and,

 

b. within the context of the City Beautification program, how diversion rates are measured in parks and whether the City is meeting the diversion targets it needs to manage parks waste containers at current service-levels.

 

2. Requested the General Manager, Toronto Water and the General Manager, Solid Waste Management Services to provide a briefing note to the November 19 2021 Budget Committee meeting on the water and compost supports provided to:

 

a. Toronto's community gardens; and

 

b. Toronto's Urban Farms, operated as non-profits, including but not limited to the Malvern Urban Farm.

 

3. Requested the General Manager, Toronto Water to provide a briefing note to the November 19 2021 Budget Committee meeting on Toronto Water service levels for the last 5 years.

 

4. Requested the General Manager, Solid Waste Management Services to provide a briefing note to the November 19 2021 Budget Committee meeting on Solid Waste Management service levels for the last 5 years.

1. Received the following presentations:

 

a. 2022 Staff Recommended Operating Budget and 2022-2031 Staff  Recommended Capital Budget and Plan from the General Manager, Toronto Water;

 

b. 2022 Staff Recommended Operating Budget and 2022-2031 Staff Recommended Capital Budget and Plan from the General Manager,  Solid Waste Management Services; and

 

c. 2022 Staff Recommended Operating Budget and 2022-2031 Staff Recommended Capital Budget and Plan  from the President, Toronto Parking Authority.
