City Council Decision

City Council on November 25 and 26, 2020, adopted the following:

 

1.  City Council rescind the existing maximum one-hour parking regulation in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, on the east side of Main Street, from a point 111 metres north of Danforth Avenue to a point 37 metres south of Doncaster Avenue.

 

2.  City Council authorize parking for a maximum period of two-hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, on the east side of Main Street, from a point 111 metres north of Danforth Avenue to a point 37 metres south of Doncaster Avenue.

Community Council Recommendations

The Toronto and East York Community Council recommends that:

 

1.  City Council rescind the existing maximum one-hour parking regulation in effect from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, on the east side of Main Street, from a point 111 metres north of Danforth Avenue to a point 37 metres south of Doncaster Avenue.

 

2.  City Council authorize parking for a maximum period of two-hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, on the east side of Main Street, from a point 111 metres north of Danforth Avenue to a point 37 metres south of Doncaster Avenue.

Summary

As the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) operates a transit service on Main Street, City Council approval of this report is required.

 

Transportation Services is recommending an amendment to the existing maximum one-hour parking regulation in effect from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday on the east side of Main Street, between Danforth Avenue and Doncaster Avenue, to be in effect for a maximum period of two-hours, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday,.  This provision will not affect traffic operations in this area and will facilitate parking for local residents.
