Community Council Decision
The Toronto and East York Community Council:
1. Approved the extension of the overnight on-street permit parking hours on Shaw Street, between Essex Street and Bloor Street West from 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., 7 days a week to the new hours of 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., 7 days a week.
2. Authorized parking for a maximum period of one-hour from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 7 days a week, on the west side of Shaw Street, between Bloor Street West and Essex Street.

Transportation Services is requesting approval from Toronto and East York Community Council to extend the overnight on-street permit parking hours on Shaw Street, between Essex Street and Bloor Street West, from 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., 7 days a week to the new hours of 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., 7 days a week with a one hour maximum parking duration from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 7 days a week.
By extending the overnight on-street permit parking hours and introducing one hour parking, residents will have improved parking flexibility and the Parking Enforcement Unit, Toronto Police Service, can effectively control long term parking by non-residents through tagging and towing operations.
