Community Council Decision

The Toronto and East York Community Council directed that:

 

1. Staff schedule a community consultation meeting for the lands pertaining to 60 Mill Street, which includes the provision of light refreshments and, when required, childcare and accessibility resources including sign language interpretation at the sole cost of the applicant, together with the Ward Councillor. 

 

2. Notice for the community consultation meeting be given to landowners and residents within 120 metres of the application site, and to additional residents, institutions and owners to be determined in consultation with the Ward Councillor, with any additional mailing costs to be borne by the applicant.

 

3. The Director, Community Planning, Toronto and East York District and the applicant, in consultation with City Planning, Transportation Services, Parks, Forestry and Recreation and any other necessary City officials, create a working group to consult with the local community as part of the Site Plan process, including the local residents association and other stakeholders, on the following prior to the issuance of Final Site Plan Approval pursuant to Section 114 of the City of Toronto Act: a construction and traffic management plan, landscape and public realm plans, building materials and lighting, and other issues as identified by the Ward Councillor.

Summary

This report provides information and identifies a preliminary set of issues regarding the application for a 31-storey building located at 60 Mill Street. Staff are currently reviewing the application. It has been circulated to all appropriate agencies and City divisions for comment. Staff will proceed to schedule a community consultation meeting for the application with the Ward Councillor.

 

The application is not supportable in its current form. Staff will work with the applicant in an attempt to address the issues indicated in this report and any further issues that come up as part of the application review.

That the Toronto and East York Community Council adopt the recommendations in the report (January 20, 2020) from the Director, Community Planning, Toronto and East York District, amended by replacing Recommendations 1, as follows:

 

1. Staff schedule a community consultation meeting for the lands pertaining to 60 Mill Street, which includes the provision of light refreshments and, when required, childcare and accessibility resources including sign language interpretation at the sole cost of the applicant, together with the Ward Councillor.

That in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 27, Council Procedures, Toronto and East York Community Council reconsider Item TE13.22.

That the Toronto and East York Community Council add the following recommendation to the report (January 20, 2020) from the Director, Community Planning, Toronto and East York District:
