Community Council Decision
The Toronto and East York Community Council:
1. Requested the Corporate Real Estate Management staff to provide a presentation at the February 5, 2020 Toronto and East York Community Council meeting on the proposed enhanced security measures being considered for City Hall, in particular, pertaining to members of the public who will be attending the Toronto and East York Community Council meetings.

Summary
There are always many residents who come to Toronto and East York Community Council to make deputations and to follow items of interest. At times depending on the issues being considered there can be almost 100 residents at our Committee. Very often there are more residents attending Toronto and East York Community Counci than most standing committees.
Resident engagement is a hallmark of Community Councils.
City Council is set to consider new City Hall security measures for the public at the January meeting.
Toronto and East York Community Council would like to ensure that the new plan would not unnecessarily impede public involvement or create unseen operational issues on those days when there are 100+ residents in attendance.
