The Toronto and East York Community Council:

1. Rescinded the existing parking prohibition in effect from December 1 of one year to March 31 of the next following year, inclusive, and from the 1st day to the 15th day of each month from April 1 to November 30, inclusive, on the south side of Earlsdale Avenue, between Oakwood Avenue and a point 31 metres east.

2. Prohibited parking at all times on the south side of Earlsdale Avenue, between Oakwood Avenue and a point 31 metres east.

A local small business and property owner contacted my office regarding a problem with parking on their licensed commercial boulevard parking space. The owner of the building has four licensed spaces assigned, however because of existing conflicting parking signage, people persistently park in front of the existing depressed sidewalks, which prevents ingress/egress to the parking spaces. I brought this matter to the attention of Transportation Services staff who have confirmed that parking signs on the south side of Earlsdale should be modified to clarify that vehicles cannot park in that area. The change proposed in this motion will prohibit parking on the south side of Earlsdale Avenue, in the specific area of ingress/egress of vehicles to the boulevard parking, and revised signage will clarify parking rules and regulations on the street.
