Members, I will now review the Order Paper. 

We have three deferred Committee Items:

IE12.4 on Mixed Waste Processing Study Update

SC12.4  on 1-70 Eglinton Square, 1431 and 1437 Victoria Park Avenue, 14, 18, 19, 22, 23 and 26 Engelhart Crescent and 64 and 68 Harris Park Drive - Official Plan Amendment Application - Request for Direction Report, and

TE14.5 on Queen Street West Planning Study – Bathurst Street to Roncesvalles Avenue, Official Plan Amendment Final Report.

The Mayor has designated Item PH16.8, on "Addressing Housing and Homelessness Issues in Toronto through Intergovernmental Partnerships" and Item HL20.1 on "Response to COVID-19, Reopening and Preparation for a Potential Resurgence" as his Key Matters for this meeting.  PH16.8 will be the first item of business today.  HL20.1 will be our first item of business after the lunch recess. 

The Notice of Motion run through is scheduled for 2 p.m. tomorrow only if the Mayor's Key Matters are completed. 

I propose that City Council set a time for a closed session, if required, later in the meeting.    

I will now go through the items to take additional Member holds.    If you would like to place your name on the Speakers list to hold an item, please text your surname to the Clerk at the number provided.   When I recognize you, unmute your mic and state the item or items you wish to hold.

September 30, 2020 at 11:01 a.m. - That City Council adopt the September 30, 2020 Order Paper and all other Items not held on consent.

October 1, 2020 at 10:04 a.m. - Speaker Nunziata advised Council of the following:

Members of Council we will now review and confirm the Order Paper. There are 63 Items left on the agenda, including 35 Member Motions.

Members, our first item this morning is Item EX16.1 on Changes to Policing in Toronto.  Do any Members have questions of the Chief on this Item?  I am advised that the Chief isn't available this morning, so if Members have questions of the Chief, I propose we stand the item down to this afternoon.

Members of Council we will now review and confirm the Order Paper. There are 25 Items left on the agenda, including 6 Member Motions.

October 2, 2020 at 9:48 a.m. - That City Council adopt the October 2, 2020, Order Paper.

Councillor Colle, rising on a Point of Privilege, stated that he would like to see the list of Members who wish to question staff and speak on an Item.

Councillor Carroll, rising on a Point of Privilege, commented on the difficult job faced by the Speaker and the Clerk's staff at Centre Table in these incredibly difficult circumstances. Councillor Carroll further stated that Council is meeting for a third day, and asked Members, as a form of gratitude to the Speaker and staff, to keep track of Items in the Member's Portal and when voting, to raise their hand and keep it raised until called their vote is called by the City Clerk.
