The Planning and Housing Committee:

1. Directed staff to schedule a community consultation meeting for the application located at 1 Herons Hill Way together with the Ward Councillor.

2. Directed that notice for the community consultation meeting be given to landowners and residents within 120 metres of the application site, and to additional residents, institutions and owners to be determined in consultation with the Ward Councillor, with any additional mailing costs to be borne by the applicant.

3. Directed staff to review the application, which includes the conversion of the subject lands from Employment Areas to Mixed Use Areas for the purpose of permitting residential development, concurrently and in the context of the statutory Review of the Official Plan, which includes a Municipal Comprehensive Review that has been commenced by the City Planning.

This report provides information and identifies a preliminary set of issues regarding the application located at 1 Herons Hill Way.  The proposal is to redevelop the easterly portion of the site for a 39-storey mixed-use building while retaining the existing 2-storey office building on the westerly portion of the subject site.  Staff are currently reviewing the application. It has been circulated to all appropriate agencies and City divisions for comment. Staff will proceed to schedule a community consultation meeting for the application with the Ward Councillor.
