Community Council Decision
North York Community Council:
1. Directed Transportation Services to expedite the implementation of the following proposed long-term improvements:
a. Implementation of a sidewalk on the north side of Calvington Drive, between Keele Street and the TTC bus stop approximately 38 metres west;
b. Review of LPI (Leading Pedestrian Interval) at the intersection; and
c. Implementation of Left Turn Calming at the intersection.
2. Requested the General Manager, Transportation Services, to report to the November 2020 North York Community Council meeting on the status and update of the improvements implemented as listed in the “Short-term Improvements” sections of the report.
3. Requested the General Manager, Transportation Services, through the regular budgetary process, to include in the Transportation Capital Plan, where possible, action items listed in the “Long Term Improvements” section of the report. Where possible, use funds within existing approved funding envelopes to do preliminary scoping and work in this budgetary year.

At its meeting on June 16, 2020, North York Community Council directed Transportation Services to conduct a review of the traffic safety and operations standards at the intersection of Keele Street and Calvington Drive. This report provides an overview of the safety review and safety improvements undertaken by Transportation Services.

Motions
That North York Community Council delete the recommendation contained in the report (August 6, 2020) from the Acting Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services, North York District, and adopt the following instead:
1. Direct Transportation Services to expedite the implementation of the following proposed long-term improvements:
a. Implementation of a sidewalk on the north side of Calvington Drive, between Keele Street and the TTC bus stop approximately 38 metres west;
b. Review of LPI (Leading Pedestrian Interval) at the intersection; and
