Community Council Decision

North York Community Council:

 

1. Prohibited standing from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday on the south side of St. Clements Avenue, between Avenue Road and a point 120 metres west.

 

2. Rescinded the existing maximum 10-minute parking regulation in effect from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday on the south side of St. Clements Avenue, between a point 37 metres west of Avenue Road and a point 114 metres west of Avenue Road.

 

3. Rescinded the existing parking prohibition in effect from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Monday to Friday on the south side of St. Clements Avenue, between a point 37 metres west of Avenue Road and a point 114 metres west of Avenue Road.

 

4. Rescinded the existing accessible loading zone, in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, on the south side of St. Clements Avenue, between a point 114 metres west of Avenue Road and a point 6 metres further west.

Summary

This staff report is about a matter for which Community Council has delegated authority to make a final decision.

 

Transportation Services is requesting North York Community Council to rescind the existing parking regulations on the south side of St. Clements Avenue, between Avenue Road and a point 170 metres west, and replace them with a standing prohibition in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

 

The proposed standing prohibition will promote safe and efficient two-way traffic and enhance the student pick-up/drop-off activity on St. Clements Avenue in the vicinity of Allenby Public School.

That North York Community Council:

 

1. Adopt the recommendations in the Recommendations Section of the report (January 8, 2020) from the Acting Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services, with the following amendments:

 

a. Recommendation 1 being amended by deleting the time "7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m." and "170 metres" inserting the time 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m." and "120 metres" so that it now reads as follows:

 

"1. Prohibit standing from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday on the south side of St. Clements Avenue, between Avenue Road and a point 120 metres west."; and

 

b. deleting Recommendation 5 in the Recommendations Section of the report (January 8, 2020) from the Acting Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services.
