City Council Decision

City Council on November 25 and 26, 2020, adopted the following:

 

1.  City Council authorize the Director, Transaction Services to continue negotiation for the acquisition of the temporary property easements, as identified in Appendix A and as shown in the Draft Plan and the Aerial Map in Appendices B and C to the report (November 18, 2020) from the Executive Director, Corporate Real Estate Management and authorize if necessary to initiate expropriation proceedings, if the Executive Director, Corporate Real Estate Management deems it necessary or appropriate to proceed in that manner.

 

2.  City Council authorize the Director, Transaction Services to serve and publish Notices of Application for Approval to Expropriate the Easements, to forward to the Chief Inquiry Officer any requests for hearing that are received, to attend any hearing in order to present the City of Toronto's position and to report the Inquiry Officer's recommendations back to City Council for its consideration.

Speaker Nunziata advised Council that the provisions of Chapter 27, Council Procedures, require that Motion MM26.7 be referred to the General Government and Licensing Committee. A two-thirds vote of the Council Members present is required to waive referral.
