City Council Decision
City Council on September 30, October 1 and 2, 2020, adopted the following:
1. City Council request the Ontario Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing to protect tenants from burdensome rent increases by restricting Above-Guideline Rent Increases as part of the 2021 rent freeze outlined in Bill 204, the Helping Tenants and Small Businesses Act, 2020.

Speaker Nunziata advised Council that the provisions of Chapter 27, Council Procedures, need to be waived to permit introduction of Motion MM24.25. A two-thirds vote of Council Members present is required to waive notice.
