Community Council Decision

Etobicoke York Community Council:

 

1.  Directed staff to schedule a community consultation meeting for the application located at 801 The Queensway together with the Ward Councillor.

 

2.  Directed that Notice for the community consultation meeting be given to landowners and residents within 120 metres of the application site, and to additional residents, institutions and owners to be determined in consultation with the Ward Councillor, with any additional mailing costs to be borne by the applicant.

Summary

This report provides information and identifies a preliminary set of issues regarding the application to amend the former City of Etobicoke Zoning Code for the lands municipally known as 801 The Queensway. The application proposes an 11-storey (40.5 m in height, including mechanical penthouse) mixed-use building.

 

The proposed development would contain 1,185 m2 of non-residential floor area on the first floor and 206 residential units above. The building would have a gross floor area of 17,390 m2, resulting in a Floor Space Index (FSI) of approximately 6.1 times the area of the lot. A total of 214 parking spaces would be provided both at-grade and within a three-level below-grade parking garage. Vehicular access to the site would be provided via Taymall Avenue.

 

Staff are currently reviewing the application. It has been circulated to all appropriate agencies and City divisions for comment. Staff will proceed to schedule a community consultation meeting for the application with the Ward Councillor.
