Community Council Decision

The Toronto and East York Community Council:

 

1. Directed the General Manager, Transportation Services, to study strategies to improve safety at the Gerrard Street East and Pembroke Street intersection, in consultation with the local residents association, and to report back to the November 5, 2019 meeting of the Toronto and East York Community Council.

Summary

At the May 22, 2019 Toronto and East York Community Council meeting, I introduced a motion (TE6.65) directing Transportation Services staff to study opportunities to improve safety at the Gerrard Street East and Pembroke Street Intersection.  Staff were directed to study potential safety strategies, in consultation with the local resident's association, and report back to the September 16, 2019 meeting of Toronto and East York Community Council.

 

The report does not appear on today's meeting agenda and has not, therefore, been brought before the public, as directed.  I understand from my communications with local residents, that the consultation with the resident's association has not yet taken place.

 

This intersection continues to be a source of concern for the Garden District neighbourhood, I, therefore, recommend the following:
