Community Council Decision

The Toronto and East York Community Council:

Origin

(September 16, 2019) Letter from Councillor Ana Bailão, Ward 9 - Davenport

Summary

Parents and teachers of Rawlinson Community School, along with the local School Trustee met with the Ward Councillor and Transportation Services staff and requested that the speed limit on Glenholme Avenue be reduced to 30 km/h.  While the section between a point of 59.2 metres north of St. Clair Avenue West and Rogers Road is 30 km/h, the section to the south between St. Clair Avenue West and a point of 59.2 metres further north is unsigned at 50 km/h.  The purpose of this motion is to harmonize the speed limit on Glenholme Avenue to 30 km/h, and therefore improve safety for local residents, as well as parents and students when they walk to and from school.
