Community Council Decision
The Toronto and East York Community Council:
1. Directed the Acting Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services, to request the City Clerk to poll eligible householders on St. Clair Gardens, between Ascot Avenue and St. Clair Avenue West, to determine whether residents support the installation of traffic calming, in accordance with the City of Toronto Traffic Calming Policy.
2. Subject to favourable results of the poll:
a. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (speed humps) on St. Clair Gardens, between Ascot Avenue and St. Clair Avenue West.
b. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter the roadway on St. Clair Gardens, between Ascot Avenue and St. Clair Avenue West, for traffic calming purposes, generally as shown on the attached copy of Drawing No. 421G-3452, dated June 2019 to the Letter (June 7, 2019) from Councillor Bailão; and
c. Reduced the speed limit from 40 km/h to 30 km/h on St. Clair Gardens, between Ascot Avenue and St. Clair Avenue West, when the speed humps are installed.

Residents on St. Clair Gardens indicate that motorists travelling along the street are doing so in an unsafe manner and that speed humps are required to reduce vehicle speeds.
