City Council Decision

City Council on June 18 and 19, 2019, adopted the following:

 

1.  City Council grant an exemption to Consulate General of Peru, Festival Management Committee, Music Sector Film and Entertainment Industries and Special Events Sponsorship City of Toronto, Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, Igbo Traditional and Cultural Revival Foundation, Young Canadian Alliance, Naos Cultural Festival and Film Society, Manifesto Community Projects Inc., Panorama India, Philippines Independence Day Council, the DeRo Foundation, Dreamland Performing Art Centre, Comite Organizador de las Fiestas Patrias, Special Olympics, University of Toronto, Special Events, City of Toronto, Consulate General of the Republic of Korea, Canada Running Series, Epilepsy Toronto, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, Celebrate Toronto to operate a beer garden and to serve wine and hard liquor contingent upon the following conditions:

 

a. approval of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario;


b. approval of the Medical Officer of Health;


c. compliance with the City of Toronto’s Municipal Alcohol Policy; and


d. receipt of all the necessary permits associated with the production of the event (i.e. building permit, noise by-law extension permit).
 

 2.  City Council grant permission to Philcan Mosaic Inc., Committee To Support Vietnam’s Human Rights and Democracy Movement and Toronto Vietnamese Association, Toronto, Festival Management Committee, Music Sector Film and Entertainment Industries and Special Events Sponsorship City of Toronto, Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, AO DAI Canada, Falun Dafa, Igbo Traditional and Cultural Revival Foundation, Toronto Council Fire, Toronto Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day Coalition, Naos Cultural Festival and Film Society, Manifesto Community Projects Inc., Panorama India, Philippines Independence Day Council, The DeRo Foundation, Nepalese Canadian Community Services, Dreamland Performing Art Centre, Second Harvest, Comite Organizador de las Fiestas Patrias, Corporate Security City of Toronto, Special Olympics, University of Toronto, Special Events City of Toronto, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Consulate General of the Republic of Korea, Canada Running Series, Toronto International Festival of Authors, Special Events City of Toronto, Epilepsy Toronto, Alzheimer Society of Toronto, Sons of Scotland, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, Baycrest Foundation, Raising the Roof and Celebrate Toronto to solicit donations in support of their organizations.

 

3.  City Council grant permission to Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, Toronto Council Fire, Toronto Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day Coalition, Naos Cultural Festival and Film Society, Manifesto Community Projects Inc., Dreamland Performing Art Centre, University of Toronto, Special Events City of Toronto, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment and Baycrest Foundation to place objects in the reflecting pool.

5.  City Council grant permission to Manifesto Community Projects Inc. and The DeRo Foundation to host ticketed events in support of their organizations.

 

6.  City Council grant permission to Festival Management Committee, Music Sector Film and Entertainment Industries and Special Events Sponsorship City of Toronto, Falun Dafa, Toronto Council Fire, Naos Cultural Festival and Film Society, The DeRo Foundation, Second Harvest, Special Olympics, University of Toronto, Consulate General of the Republic of Korea, Epilepsy Toronto, Special Events City of Toronto, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment and Baycrest Foundation for sound amplification outside of Nathan Phillips Square amplification schedule policy.

8.  City Council grant permission to Toronto Council Fire, Naos Cultural Festival and Film Society, Manifesto Community Projects Inc., Panorama India, Philippines Independence Day Council, University of Toronto, Special Events City of Toronto, Epilepsy Toronto and Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment to use special effects pyrotechnics as part of their event production.

 

9.  City Council grant permission to Special Events City of Toronto to cover a selection of City Hall windows as part of its event production.

 

10. City Council require that the various events compensate the City of Toronto, through the Facilities Management Division, for all City of Toronto costs associated with an event above the standard staffing complement.
