The Toronto and East York Community Council approved the following:

1. Further to the community consultation meeting for lands pertaining to 938-950 King Street West held on March 18, 2019, the Toronto and East York Community Council endorse the arrangement made between City staff and the applicant for the notice provided for the community consultation meeting, to landowners and residents within 120 metres of the site, and to additional residents, institutions and owners as determined in consultation with the Ward Councillor, with any additional mailing costs to be borne by the applicant.

On March 18, 2019, a community consultation meeting will be held by City Planning staff regarding the re-zoning application for 938-950 King Street West. For each community consultation meeting of this kind, it is my standard practice to bring a request to Community Council in advance, to direct City staff to provide expanded public notice of the event at cost of the applicant. Unfortunately, due to the schedule of meetings in relation to when the meeting was confirmed, it has not been possible to give this direction for 938-950 King Street West. Fortunately, the applicant agreed to work with Community Planning staff on the provision of expanded notification despite the lack of Community Council direction.

I am asking that Community Council endorse and retroactively formalize this ad hoc solution in order to help ensure there are no additional challenges or complexities faced by City staff or the applicant in this respect.
