Community Council Recommendations

The Toronto and East York Community Council recommends that:

1. City Council reduce the speed limit from 50 km/h to 40 km/h on Dufferin Street, between College Street and Sylvan Avenue.

Origin

(December 4, 2018) Report from the Acting Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services

Summary

Transportation Services is requesting approval from City Council to reduce the speed limit from 50 km/h to 40 km/h on Dufferin Street, between College Street and Sylvan Avenue.

In response to residents' concerns, Transportation Services staff reviewed a request for a 40 km/h speed limit on Dufferin Street, between Queen Street West and Sylvan Avenue. The results of the assessment indicate that the more appropriate speed limit on this section of Dufferin Street would be 40 km/h.

As this staff report concerns a major arterial roadway with regular TTC service, City Council approval is required.
