The Toronto and East York Community Council:  

1. Rescinded the existing parking machine regulation in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, and from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, at a rate of $2.00 per hour and for a maximum period of 3 hours, on the south side of Gerrard Street East, between a point 55 metres east of George Street and Pembroke Street.

2. Authorized maximum 15-minute parking from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, on the south side of Gerrard Street East, between a point 55 metres east of George Street and a point 22 metres west of Pembroke Street.

3. Amended the existing permit parking regulation on the odd (south) side of Gerrard Street East, between Jarvis Street and Sherbourne Street, in effect from 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., except no stopping anytime from a point 30.5 metres east of Jarvis Street to a point 55.5 metres further east and from Sherbourne Street to a point 55.5 metres west, to be in effect from 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., except no stopping anytime from Jarvis Street to a point 36 metres east, from George Street to a point 24 metres east, from Pembroke Street to a point 22 metres west and from Sherbourne Street to a point 35 metres west.

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority to make a final decision, provided that it is not amended so that it varies with City Policy or by-laws.

Transportation Services is requesting approval to extend the existing maximum 15-minute parking area on the south side of Gerrard Street East, between George Street and Pembroke Street, in order to provide more short-term parking spots for parents and guardians to pick-up and drop-off passengers attending the Gerrard Early Learning Centre located at No.163 Gerrard Street East.
